2017- 2018 BMW S1000RR Exhaust Kit
For the 2017 BMW S1000RR Taylormade has melded it’s very successful full exhaust kit designs for the two previous models into a stunning Simon Murton inspired design as BMW returns to the large muffler box under the chassis.
Simon created the dark, stylish ambiance of Oscar-winning Matrix Revolutions films and inspired the new design for the B17 2017 BMW S1000RR exhaust which echoes this powerful, techno-futuristic vibe.
The stunning result is a discrete GP-style Carbon Fiber paneled exhaust system to totally compliment the complex factory bodywork of the 2017 BMW S1000RR.
Beneath the unique organic lines of the Carbon Fiber panels is the latest Taylormade Racing full tapered header race system in thin-wall stainless steel, which cuts weight by 11.7lbs (5.3kg) and boosts power over stock.
Each BMW S1000RR exhaust is hand-made in Taylormade Racing’s California factory.
Taylormade and Hollywood Matrix designer create BMW S1000RR Stealth Exhaust
Owner Paul Taylor said: ‘Simon Murton is a top rank Hollywood designer, but he is also a bike nut. When I first met him he rode an iconic Ducati, like the 998 featured in the Matrix Reloaded, and now he rides a sports BMW with loads of custom carbon fiber on it. So when he agreed to work with Taylormade Racing, it was a natural fit’.
‘The B17 exhaust follows our B14 and B15 for the earlier S1000RRs, but is all-new. Simon’s organic panels feature curves which were a challenge to create, but I think the overall effect is quite stunning and fits perfectly with the highly-refined stock bodywork’.
‘Apart from Simon’s unique styling, we have produced a fully- engineered solution to the smaller space available for the under-chassis muffler in the new model and also the noise and heat produced by the 200hp motor. The multi-chambered muffler is smaller than stock but still produces an acceptable noise level and a great tone.
‘The new system is nearly 12lbs (5.3kg) lighter than stock and the power boost is expected to be similar to our previous S1000RR model’.
‘It may be our most stylish exhaust yet, but it retains the Taylormade trademark growl and like our other products is easy to fit with a few tools and is a quality product, built to last.’
